leaky ego...dont know why

ive got a leak from my ego 05 and i dont know where its from. The leak comes from the hole where gas is directed into the bolt. Its a slow hollow sounding hiss and ive no ****ing idea where its coming from. ive changed every O ring, stripped the thing to its components parts and nothing. Its almost like the valve (the front of which is hit by the rammer) is not closing properly...why would this be?

re-lube everything, put a couple of drops of oil in the asa and dryfire a few shots

definatly sounds valve related to me.....has the valve ever been changed do you know. could be in need of a new one.

i would say open it up and take a look at both the valve and the face of the ram housing, a scratch or a nick on eather will cause this, if the gun has been well used then it can happen over time....i had the valve on my etek changed last week due to this (somone who lent it was diggin in a sand pit with it i think )

if its the valve, then you can pick up a new valve kit on the eclipse website (not in stock atm, but will be next week), the valve is also in the comprehensive parts kit. if its the ram housing id say send it into planet for Robert to take a look at, he may be able to save it, if not he will be able to sort it out by replacing the ram housing.

dont do that unless you want to be getting oil in the solenoid and qevs which can potentially cause all kinds of fun.
that works great with mechanical cockers tho!

its one of those things that if its going to happen theres not a lot you can do to stop it or predict it im afraid.
id say give planet a call on tuesday and arrange to send it in for Robert to take a look at it.

If its still leaking after the valve has been changed then there is more than likely a scratch on the rammer housing face. As Matt says this can sometimes be saved by refacing the housing face but if the scratch is to deep then a new rammer must be fitted. The usual cause of this is debris getting in the chamber and getting stuck between the valve and the rammer housing. As the marker is an 05 i would say that it has had a fair few shoots fired and if the valve has never been changed then its done quite well.

Saved mine with some 1500 wet and dry. It is a little tricky because the valve face is not flat.
