first off mate, it would help everyone if you told us whether it was a stock UK/US board because straight away if you tell me youve got a UK stock board then youll be quick to learn that they dont have the the modes you request lol but US do

if you look in the manual for your ion and read the modes bit it will say what modes is relevant to UK/US boards

UK board has semi and rebound, if you want to use rebound however you will get dramatic drop off as you shoot at a decent pace but it will be fine at a few shots and pause, this is due to the stock parts of the ion not keeping up with the mode it is selected and so it does not function fully and drops balls out of barrel virtually lol.

hope this helps mate, and personally i would say learn to use semi before you start cheating and using 3 shot bursts and things. Start with the basics and get your fingers working well;)

Never had this trouble on rebound (ramping) on any of my ions but as you say rebound and semi are the only ones you really need in the Uk as fully auto is 'illegal' and not many sites allow the use of burst mode. Incidentially if you check out the ion manual both the fully auto and burst modes are capped at 10 bps and are only available on the US board, whereas rebound can go up to a thoeretical 17 bps cap

yeah, as already stated, if you have a UK board (which it looks like you do) then you wont have full auto or burst.

Rebound can be tweaked so that you wont have any drop off by adjusting your dwell etc.

Hmm the use of a qev is a highly contended subject with quite a few people considering it to be more trouble than it's worth. It can make your ion run on lower pressure and dwell settings but can also increase wear and make the marker harder on paint thus affects which brands you can use.

I use a firebolt too (and lucky 2 & 3 stages) but never had many issues running stock internals, in fact the stock bits currently run better than my lucky 5.1 setup but I hope to have that one sorted soon.
