FYI....... the centre of England is a little village called Meriden which is very very close to birmingham airport......Love it how you midlanders hate each other, when it was at Rodbasten the East complained now its at Ancaster the West complain. From where I live travelling time to both is 90 min approx
Well i'm a northerner but yet not that far north as a Geordie and I believe the best place would be somewhere just north east of Nottingham

That is quite correct if you take road mileage from Falmouth to Berwick upon Tweed then Meriden is in fact the Centre of England
But conversely if you go from Dover to Carlisle then its Grantham
Hang on ain't Grantham about 6 miles from Ancaster - go figure
(to find that fact out was certainly not expected, to be sure)

but the point remains those roots on the field are a menace! and yeah, it is in the ideal location, easy to find, near to both a pub and a mcdonalds... etc
