As far as I am aware Russ wants it run at as a league not a monthly tourney, so in a league you have win (3 points) lose (0 points) or a draw (1 point)

To have a league you have to have this option for the promoted teams to try and get something out of the games. Otherwise they may not play the game give the other team 3 points and save money on paint

One thing that was obvious from it is that teams need to adapt quicker, if a team finds a winning game plan then the other team must adapt after they have lost twice with the team running the same plan.

What a great day this is what paintball is all about. Recently i nearly quit balling, but now after playing the PA and Xball it has given me a good reason to keep playing. In my opionion this is the best format you can play. Big thanks to our pit crew, Hustlerss and Durham for some great games, all the marshalls on field 2, and all the guys in putting on such a great event. Pheonix for the great paint and Eclipse with our wicked 07's. I can't wait till the next event. Get more events like this i want to play this every month! Get yourselves there guys and play some serious hard ballin.

thought it was psp rules, not making up rules as you go along
(No, that's a certain other tourney..)
Russ had a set of rules decided before it started, it wasn't made up on the day, nor was anything changed on the day, by my understanding.

Had a pretty good day, feel fairly dead today, seemed to have pulled every muscle including in my hands & feet!? :)

The comment markhamgreg made yesterday while we were there was great, that he would have stopped playing if he'd not found this made me really happy, that's what it's all about.

I've noted a couple of things which could be made better for next time, & I'll pass on comments that I got to Russ. Including that it would be good to see a rulebook specific to this tourney, which I'm sure will happen sometime because this was just the first of hopefully many.

Sorry to close on a sour note but...
Apparently at least one if not more teams yesterday...just left after finishing without paying, & without offering an explanation, leaving the guys out of pocket (and almost the marshalls). Come on guys that's not on, hardly gentlemanly behaviour, make yourselves known to russ & pay please. It's like leaving after a meal without paying, may be a bit fun & exciting once for a £20 bill, but for £500 odd?? Cheque to Russ please.

And...there was a thread about using marshalling shields on here t'other day, saying you couldn't run about with a shield, well I've come to the conclusion that you must be a fattie & therefore don't/can't run anyway, because I was running about and sliding with it all day, and making hand signals, and getting in close to players.

Sweetie, if you're going to get personal and bitchy then go pick a fight with MissyQ or Stongle ;) I have my reasons, you and the rest of the northern Refs have yours.
