not that new - but ''Vernon God Little' by DBC Pierre - like an updated Holden Caulfield

Also 'How to lose friends and alienate people' by Toby Young

Or if you're into crime fiction anything by Jeffery Deaver, Harlen Coben, Lee Child, Robert Crais & Kathy Reichs is also pretty good!

Bill Bryson - Down under - very funny

Douglas Adams (Of hitchikers fame) - Last chance to see - very interesting

A brief history of time (had to try it:rolleyes: )

the men who stare at goats - Realy weird!

Terry Pratchett - Good but definetly comes under fantasy balls

I recomend anything by Jerome K Jerome, 'the idle thoughts of an idle fellow' was one of my favourites, but they're all good, very philosophical and the only author that has made me laugh out loud. He kind of character studys and muses over human nature and how silly we all are in a round about kind of a way.
