Hi, been playing using hire gear for the past couple of years at a few paintball sites around bristol, so me and a buddy of mine decided it was time
for us to get our own gear and play along proper players instead of first timers all the time, that way i should get better a lot quicker.
Iv only ever played woodsball, but once i get into it id like to try speedball too.
I have a total budget of around £450 - £500 for the marker, hopper and air system. (marker £250, air £150?, hopper £50-£100?). Of course cheaper the better if possible, as ill have to buy goggles, spares, a pack, pots etc on top of that budget.
After much searching on the net and looking for information on this board and a few others iv decided on a proto matrix rail.
The air systems confuse me, iv read about pre set regs, and then others talking about using high and low pressure. Can anyone break it down for me why you would use either of these over pre set?
When it comes to filling your compressed air bottle, do you need to buy yourself a larger bottle like a diving bottle and refill it yourself? or do the paintball walk in days let you use theirs?
Was going to buy a 1.1L kevlar coated tank, any recomendations on which one? would a 0.8L one suffice?
Sorry i know this is long winded, one last question, and that is regarding hoppers. Iv read the halo B with rip drive is a pain the arse to clean if a ball breaks inside mid game. Id prefer to have something that i can rely on. Is it best to stick to looking at reloader B's and halo B's? Will either of these suit a pmr? Or do you suggest an alternative loader.
Cheers dudes, once i get my gear, maybe ill see you all at some walk ins around bristol/somerset.
