Pmr Or Mini?

Pmr unless you want to do the "Fix it yourself poppet mod" to stop the blowback issues most mini's seem to have.

I've shot both, I would go with the PMR myself out of preference, however the Mini does come with a better trigger and feedneck out of the box.

The PMR has a good upgrade path if you are that way inclined, the Mini is limited in that respect but acceptable as-is.

The Mini is extremely small and light, and fairly well balanced. The PMR is taller, longer and marginally heavier (it is still very small, and only a few ounces heavier than the Mini) and is also fairly well balanced.

The Mini's i've seen so far have been a little harsh on paint, the PMR seems to be a little easier on the balls.

There have also been some horror stories about the reliability of th Mini, check out the Mini section on PBnation.

The PMRs have excellent Tech support via Dye dealers (eg Heaven Paintball) and Dye themselves, whereas it could be argued that NPS could be a bit sketchy in that respect (Spares availability etc)

The best bet would be to try both guns out and see how they shoot. Make the choice from there. I prefer the PMR because it shoots very much like any other DM/PM, the upgrade path, and the easy access to Tech support.

:)

The blowback issue seems to be fixed as standard now on all new minis.
I have a mini and have shot a pmr. Have to say i prefer stock mini to stock pmr. And considering you are going for one of these 2 guns implies you don't have a huge amount of cash spare so upgrades don't really come into the equation for me in that respect. However upgradeability pmr wins hands down.

I have heard issues about pmr's battery harnesses and how weak they are to the point where you change the battery and need a new harness. But then again the minis have alot of bad press too. Try both, see which you prefer.

Yeh, i killed the battery harness on the PMR i've got within about 15 secs of opening the grips for the first time (brand new gun). I would suggest replacing with a sturdier harness from someone like Lucky, or if you can find one a Cluedo mod.

Otherwise, I used a standard PMR (except for an UL-style trigger that cost £18) at the last NSPL/KOTH event and it was excellent. It was blazing paint with the best of them. :D

you can get an ego 05 for less than the price of a mini, sometimes for less than a PMR, id go with the ego :)
Very true, but it wouldn't be new or under warrantee. I would say that if you are confident with fixing guns and know what to look for when buying, second hand is a good option. There are some great bargains to be had.

However, if you want piece of mind with your new purchase, knowing that you have a warrantee to fall back on if any problems, then i would buy new wherever possible.
