not all, myself with what i get paid it normally just about pays for my expenses like fuel (normally £40-£50) as im normally only person in my car, food and extra ciggies for the day, and im left with not a lot and when i stay in a hotel it then costs me to ref.You will also find that most marshals do it for the money not because they enjoy it
I do actually do it for the enjoyment, however much i moan and seem a prick when im on field i do enjoy it.
All be it were not the best in the world but the majority of us do a good job reffing as some of you will know its not that easy.
To see the top british teams playing domestic ball again would be good for everyone, the sport, the spectators (ok not many but hey ) the lower divs, i can remember watching the pro tour, enjoying it and learning from watching.
As regards playing cpl at a masters event i would love it, even if i wasnt reffing that field. Yes it would take more refs, but why would you need to take the best refs.
from what i understand Wendy normally runs 1 field per roughly ten so setting one of these fields aside for cpl wouldnt harm the other teams.
As to roster locking this is a difficult one, whats the harm in running it the same way as it is, if your in div 1 you play spl. come bottom you go back to div 2 and 1 team from div 2 moves up. It would give the lower teams something to aspire to. When i played i owuld of worked my socks off to play cpl format if it was there.
My 2p's worth anyway
