Correct me if I am wrong, sure i read that according to uk law, if you shoot above 12 ft/lb (about 330 fps? based on weight of a paitball?), then you require a license?

I have already been kinda correct on this but just basing on what I have read, that paintball guns are classed as air rifles and you need a license above that speed/pressure? If i can find the site will post up, otherwise, just correct away :)

Found the site I got the info from, this is outdated? Just nice to know which side of the law I am standing on thats all! Apparently only have classification of "toy" when below this speed.

"the firearms act and paintball"

The Firearms Act places paintball markers in the Air Weapons section. Air weapons do not need a licence if they fall within the following criteria, outside this criteria a licence is required. (This is a brief summary of the main points)

For a paintball marker to be classed as an "Air Weapon" and therefore not require a licence it must not be fired above 12 ft/lbs for a “rifle” type and 6 ft/lbs for a “pistol” type.
