olly, your a fu*king genius.
You can all argue till your blue in the face.
It comes down to this. If the UKM decide to continue with semi then that is their choice to do so. The teams who play for fun will continue to support this league which is totally right. However you will see the teams in the higher divisions drifting off to other leagues as these are the teams who wish to better themselves and play at events that emulate european/american events.
This won't happen overnight admittedly but it will happen. If you have the better teams leaving the series you lose the prestige and quite possibly the sponsors as they, in the end wont want to support teams who just 'play for fun'.
I personally think that ramping is the way forward for the moment. When someone gives me the solution whereby i can return to 'true' semi i will gladly do so. Until then ramping is where my loyalties, for what they are worth, lie.
Like many others have said you
are displaced recballers. You play for recreation and as such why should you have a say in what
is essentially a competitive environment?
edit: in terms of what you class youselves as in a competitive environment i should add, not monetarily. There i agree you have an irrefutable right.
Your playing in a competitive series is paradoxical. You play for recreation and fun and yet your all trying ever so hard to win.
But perhaps this is what is needed. A league that is run for those displaced recballers who enjoy supair but aren't wanting to progress on too bigger things.
Its come to the point where the UKM with the players has to make a decision about what their role in UK paintball is. I believe every other league has introduced ramping (not sure about syd's). Whatever they choose they are going to piss people off. Simple as.
