i have a feeling they made it illegal, or it become pointless due to advancements in trouser technology or something.

I just think it should be pointed out that this is an awesome, awesome comment on the bar towel topic. "advancements in trouser technology", legend!.

From my 5 year experience as a barman and cellar guy I can say that the newer the bar towel the less absorbant it is, for something designed to soak beer up it's awful.

If you decide to go through with it I have access to some bar towels I am on good terms with the steward and if I'm nice he may provide me with some. Let me know I will pop down there and get some pics of brand names and designs which may interest you.
