woodhatch , reigate
the best syc up i have ever seen was done by a bunch of 15 year olds at my local site .

pic this in your head !!!!

they got a group started shouting at each other n slapping each other around the face getting realy into it .

then comes the stupid bit the 10sec is called they get ready at the start gate all sycd up , game on is called , 4 out of the 7 players slip in the mud and land face first and the others are all shot on the break .

the four grounded players get up and all head to the same bunker and get lit up by the smallest player on the feild as he mugs them all .

Dunno mate, i get shy around all those pro's :p ;)
Lol! Thats how I get around you Mikey!!!:p

I like to stay in silence, focus on what's ahead. whether it's laying down pre-game or just bumbling about before the 10-second call. trying to make an imaginary sequence of how the game will go down, and the job's i have been assigned to do.

slow things down, concentrate on breathing. As "Element Gunfighter" said, take in everything around you, from the smell of the paint on the ground to the music blaring out across the tourney, trying to focus as hard as i can on doing my job right.

as i hit the start gate, ill crouch/prepare for the go. fixed eyes on the lanes i want to hit and the occasional glance back at the rest of the team, I'll say a few words Eg. "this is what we want guy's, this is what were here for" and "everything we work for is for this moment, let's make it worth it". Before the game-on ill briefly close my eyes, take a big breath in then..GO. using all the focused energy on bursting out of the start gate, getting my lane(s) down and hitting my bunker, screaming calls before I've even made it there.

I'll usually end up coming off the field shaking with adrenaline ...(if all goes to plan) :D

OK...so yeah being sick, no problem...but if the guy was being sick before every game...that is a problem (we have established that this was a one off).:D

Huddle...yeah..cool, like someone said, better when the Yanks do it.

Pebble...I am aware that you are well respected for your playing ability and much kudos to you for it. But...I very much hope that is down to actual ability and not your pre-game mind set.

I am going to assume that you are young, without a Family of your own.

Being as I am the reverse of that...it is simply impossible for me to WANT to conjure up an image of my Wife, whom I love and my children whom strangely, I also love...MY FLESH AND BLOOD...being horribly MURDERED...

If I found that I could be comfortable with that image for any purpose, I would be as worried, as if I ever had the urge to F*CK my own children...and would put myself as far from them as possible.

With the greatest of respect to you and with no prejudice, as a "webmate", what you said, might be very easy for you to say...possibly a bit of Bravado...but the very thought of it, to anyone with their own Family (or not), I would think would be unbearable...it is not something that should be encouraged in order to make for an effective breakout...in my opinion.

If that really works for you...cool...some people don't get on with their folks and siblings maybe that would be easier...but as I said, expect to have some difficulty when one day in the start gate, you cant quite seem to concentrate on imagining your first born son being sliced up.

Call me crazy...call me uncommitted...

Now...somebody tell me I am wrong.

ok i understand, if i didnt get on with my family or if i didnt have a family i wudnt get pissed off if i were i imagine my family getttin hurt,
but whatever the case, i said the word "imagine" so im sure you can imagine something in your head that pisses you off that would make you want to destroy the opposition, like for example say the opposing team scratched your new Ferarri so u want pay back

(use your imagination is what im sayin to get fired up)

Oh I quite agree that can certainly be a great motivator..one of teh best..it was just teh choice of subject matter that I was concerned about! lol!:D

Jeremy Clarkson once commented, that someone had spat on his Ferrari, right on the door handle...he suggested that they should not be allowed to live. I can see his point:D
