Its going to be your dwell, if not as Mikey is hinting at if you have an aftermarket board there should be a FSDO setting that you can raise to rctify the problem.

knew a guy who had that problem, the dwell is too low, if you've got a qev in set your dwell around 20 - 25

Do you know where they make custom grips too, done a little photochop of my ion but will be too hard to colour the grip as its rubber & would just peel off.
