Now i'm in the mood to champion the underdog again.

So what if someone is a little bit naive when they first use this site, and so what if their spelling leaves a bit to be desired. Who are we to be the bringers of doom to this person. Before you cast aspersions to the mental state of this newbie, take a good look at your own first posts, and see if you would shout yourself down.
Not everyone has the experience of life to act accordingly on a public forum, but with gentle guidance they will get the idea, and learn as they go along.

There are way to many "who the **** is this guy with his bad spelling and paintballer type name" posts. Anyone would think we don't want new members to the forum and ultimately new players.

There are quite a few members on here that had iffy starts, but turned out to be great guys, all they needed was a chance.

So the ball is in your court, lets see how big you can be.

:)

Rock on dude :D I really support what you're saying 100%. The only flipside is that every now and then there is a complete twonk who does come up and does nothing but stir up trouble. In some instances a good kick up the backside is just what they need. I think what we need to remember is a little restraint. I mean its cool to have a bit of a laugh and all but there has been multiple instances people have went overboard. I think everything just needs to happen in moderation. I think this includes letting people off as well as coming down on them like a tonne of bricks.

i agree tom, look at me when i first joined bit naive and stupid, buti think iv matured somewhat. i also agree that there seems to be a bandwago of flamers on here as of late, "oh you cant spell, and your a crook" im all for keeping an eye on the crooks but isnt it a case of, people start out paintball and what to know the stupid things before they can run, such as me with my "why oh why" thread you just love to stir up again(tom). so preach on you welsh preacher. fight for the little people.

Everyone's always going on about needing more people in the sport and younger people blah blah blah, the last thing you want to do is to put them off before they've even got into it properly just because they're not the best speller....or like to post a lot....or generally annoy people....they'll learn lol :p

Nice thread Tom:cool:

yep,all the new member offenders have had a pm from me just pointing out some forum etiquette and hopefully they will take note and their type of posts and the content will start to change.

Also if the "he is a Scammer" or "he has no posts" brigade can slow down a bit.It only takes one operson to ask for a picture with the sellers name on not half a dozen.

All i am asking is to give TFP a chance to educate them then if they choose to ignore this help they will leave our community.

cheers

Good shout Tom, there's far too much vigilantism, perhaps a friendly word in the ear if you feel you must but not publicly and humiliatingly. I too enjoy goading the persistent offenders of horrific spelling and grammar, but not those who truly are new and don't really know forum etiquette. Tom and Gassy have the right idea.

Yeah this is a good thread that needed doing, i always try and speak to people on any forum as i would if they were in the same room as me, it is a real person at the other end of the line remember! it reminds me of "road rage", the safety of being safe inside a car sure brings out the worst in some people(me included if i'm honest) whereas if you had the same situation on foot anger rarely surfaces.
It's all about having good manners, politeness goes a long way:)
