format

In 7 man you could lock down the field and stalemate the game. I watched the most boring 7 man finals in Bitburg last year. Both teams broke to their primaries and just sat there shooting. I think 2 of the 3 games went to time.

X ball lite is the format of the future. The CPL is currently the best I've played. Race to 5, you don't get a break, your either playing or preping in the pits. Fast paced game, you can't stalemate it. There is no more hiding in the back row, it's forwards or to the deadbox :)

SPL is the same, just race to 4 due to time constraints in fitting in all the teams on one field.

From a non-playing point of view, any format where you're allowed to shout and cheer from the sides is by far and away the best.

Having to stand silently is horrendous. not being able to pass on correct counts, warn of moves, and tell people when to bump up to next bunker - and having to resort to old school coaching of standing level with the oppos snake man is a pain as well ;)

7man for the win!

id prefer CPL/SPL if there was no coaching

basically i dont want coaching invloved cus im sneaky, sneakiness dusnt work when someone is tellin the enemy that your being sneaky so thats why i prefer 7man cus your moves mean something

I agree with Pebble the on thing I do not like about the current variety of Xball formats is the coaching.

The team who wins the games should be the one with the most skill and maybe luck, NOT the one with the most/best coaches.

It would be nice to know how well the likes of XSV could have done if they had the same amount of coaching as, for example Joy.

Maybe allow player counts to help dominating teams to know when to go in for the kill but that is about it, so that the fast pace can be maintained.

coaching

You would be amazed how difficult it is to coach a team.
There is so much ambient noise that it is very difficult for us players to distinguish one voice that we can trust. You are also far from the most effective place to coach, ie the snake.
If you can manage it, good on you. We've always preferred on field communication.

Prefur xball over Cpl, purely because it allows more leway (sp) for teams. Teams can come back from poor starts. downside is cost and the rest.
