changing a ccu kit on a 05 ego

ok ive got a ccu kit winging its way to me but ive only owned an ego for a week or so now. the feedneck and eye covers r simple but im a bit concerned about the lpr and rammercap. i dunt wanna mess and change some pressure settings or how far the rammer comes back thus messing with the marker setup.

Q1 : how does the lpr come off. do i remove the screw in the middle and then unscrew the lpr or just unscrew the lpr itself?

Q2 : does removing the rammer cap change how far the ram drops back like in a timmy or do i just remove the old and replace with the new and i would affect nothing. if i remember from my timmy that if u overscrew the rammercap then the bolt doesnt go back enuff for the balls to feed past the bolt and if its not screwed in enuff then travel time is up'd and it would take longer for the bolt to cycle.

any help, online walkthru's or little help videos are much appreciated.

The rammer cap just comes off and put the new one on

uncrew LPR by hand
remove internals (in order, the springs are specific to front and back)
uncrew the adjuster with a 1/8'' allen key

replace internals into new lpr cap housing, having cleaned and relubed with vaseline or equivalent. screw back in the adjuster screw so it sits flush with the end of the lpr cap.

screw lpr back on the body.


for the rammer cap, it simply replaces. lube the oring and threads with a drop of gun oil to make taking it off again easy.

for your information, the rammer cap should be removed to allow cleaning of the rammer after every days play. remove the bolt, unscrew the rammer cap, get the rammer out and clean the origns. relube with gun oil only.
replace. the rammer cap should be hand tight, dont crank it down tight (or youll run into problems stripping it trying to get it out again).

What he said. It specificaly says not to used lube/grease on the rammer only oil as it clogs up QEVs. Lovejuice is fine bud.

you could maybe use the shocker lube on the LPR and HPR piston oring but like these enlightened souls say, NOT the rammer.

Eclipse gun oil is the trick.

Lovejouice will work but its kinda sacrilidge to use WDP ***z on an EGO lol

I love this ,I used shocker lube on every ego I had(on the rammer) and they always ran like a dream,obviously I was wrong and I would never do it again .. but still .LOL
