Paintball is not really that aggressive certainly not compared to say boxing, martial arts or even rugby. From what I have seen most of the so called aggression is just the sound of poor losers who would soon shut up if they had to have a real confrontation.
very well said. Not having a go at any martial artists on here, but if people can engage in marshal arts, where the idea is to soundly bash another person, then why not have paintball? it's not exactley combat.

In terms of those kids I assume you mean kids from socially deprived areas and backgrounds. That being the case why would paintball not offer a means of direction or be a good pass time? Surely paintball is not only for the middle classes.

I agree regarding not receiving packing from a politician however, you would be surprised by the people that come out of the woodwork when an initiative is seen to succeed.[/quote]

I wassaying that paintball would give those kids a sense of direction and a good past time, and as I think someone said, all you have to do is package it right and a trip to the northern quarter could be taken up by the 'mission' or 'project' or whatever... I'm thinking a representative could even take a couple o' sup' air bunkers into a school and show their year 10/ 11s a few videos, all you need to do is spin it so the school likes the idea and will let you in!

This surely would reach alot of your target market...

That answers the problem of getting new people into it; very pro-active, very useful marketing, who would possibly do it?

there's a bit more to it than that dude!

you made a good point i reckon about tournament only punter days though, i'm quite new to paintball and my impression was always one of playing soldiers in the woods with toy guns! how wrong was i? anyway after a few months i got to try sup-air and i gotta say it was the biggest adrenalin rush i'd had in many years, i try and explain (even justify) what it's like to the lads in work and why i'm so hooked and they just mostly (but good naturedly) take the p***, not that i give two hoots but it shows the general views people have which are wrong to say the least.

yes i know, like almost everyone i know, i was there once in my life too...

but the fact you have to study to get a black-belt put me off for life

thanks! :D but i didn't meen just individual "days", i meant a tournament only site that runs the same amount of days as any other punter site.;)

it shows the general views people have which are wrong to say the least.

As far away from you as possible
I see it very slowly evolving, both in woodsball, sup air and an upsurgence in military simulation. However I fail to see what real action that would take the sup air tornement side of the sport to where most people involved want it to be.
The simple fact is when the public's midset is" it's in the woods" they are actually right. Most paintball in the world is played in the woods and there is nothing wrong with that as a competitive format.
What is important is to set clear boundaries between the main sides of the sport, as already mentioned there should be sup air sites for punters.
This being said I would also like to see something similar to what the Americans have done, that is purely woodsball sites, that means no Rambo punter games.

Setting clear boundaries will help both sides get more clarification in the public's eye. It appears to work very well in America with the general public at least having an idea of the two segments of the sport.

I don't see paintball EVER becoming even as large as tennis or bowls, the fact of the matter is that most people find it boreing to watch, I enjoy paintball yet get bored easily.

My 2 pence.
