APE Rampage Nightmare... HELP!!!!!

Hey all,

For Christmas my work bought me an APE Rampage board for my Ion marker. Unfortunately I've had nothing but trouble with it and its now been back 3 times for repair!

On its most recent return to me my SP QEV had been attached but the tube hadn’t been shorted and in trying to get the QEV off I broke the connector on the Solenoid :'(

So last night I beavered away at de-soldering the old solenoid and replacing it with one off my original Ion Board. 1 Hour later… Volla it worked!

I was happy as for the first time ever I could use the board with my Ion!
It fired, the keypad worked and all the lights worked!

After adjusting my trigger this morning I put the battery back into the trigger frame and there was a puff of smoke! The board now doesn’t appear power up, No lights come on and I’m now very sad any advice on what to do other than throw the £100 board in the bin and cry?

sounds like you are shorting the board out not sure how might be a faulty board, have you still got the warrenty

maybe when soldering the solenoid, u got it on the wrong way?

OK,
I was just clarifying that you cannot break the ion board by soldering the solenoid on the wrong way around.


Sounds like this board self destructed, possibly for reasons of national security

On the Ion boards its impossible to fit the solenoid on the wrong way round and the gun did work for 20 minutes before it died which was when i put the battery back in its housing. I wil post pics of te board tomorrow when get my camera back so you can see what I mean.
