They chronograph your velocity on your gun , as in FPS (feet per second) it avoids lense cracking etc and keeps things safe, 280or below fps is a good velocity anything above 300 is abit dangerous
What is this whole lens cracking crap?

A Lexan lens, will take a 12 gauge shotgun blast petty well...so it has no worries with paintballs.

All you need to do, is make sure it doesn't get old and brittle...yes,. repeated close shots, would be bad news...but its normally because the Gog's have been squished in your kit bag, that the lens cracks..usually around the nose.

If they charge...leave and never, ever go back...:D

No, shouldnt charge you...should demand you do before you play.

Its a safety and legality issue mate. They will probably do it, but get them to explain it to you, so you can do it your self next time.

You want to check your velocity a few times in the day.
To make sure your not too under (disadvantage) or too hot (dangerous).

Just ask for Jamie when you get there. Probably only let you use site kit for a walk on day but he will be happy to run you through the ins and outs before you leave. they hold team practices there regularly too, and are always welcoming to new blood.......

Sites should ALWAYS chrono markers that have been brought along, or at least give you access to a chrono to do it yourself. It's very simple to do with an Ion - Take a look in the manual and it will tell you which way the adjustment nut needs to be turned to increase or decrease the velocity.
