hey guys!
iv been offered an air bottle, just wondering what the average test is on a bottle, how many years?

the lad tells me the start date is 2003/03 and they have a 5 year life?
is this true! its only a temp bottle till i can afford a better one?

He said there is no test date on it just the start date.

any help would be great.

You have a 15 year life on the bottle, but you may find the bottle needed it's first test after 3 years. Some bottles were 3 year, and some were 5 year, when their born date was before 06/2003. Can you put up a pic of it, or find out the manufacturer.
There's a good chance it will be a 5 year initial test and it will be ok, but best to be safe than sorry.

depends on what type of bottle it is. half wrap tanks are 3 year i think, full wrap tanks are 5 year.

with the "Born date" that you have given, it will need re-testing on the 03/2008 (full wrap tank) and it will have a "End date" on it too, which is 15 years from its born date

I think it's only the stako bottles that are only 5 year life, every other type of bottle should have 15 year life.
