It might .

From the main menu - click the bottom right icon (envelope). Now click 2nd left icon - then 'address book'. Your Wii code should be there.

I don't know my son's code off-by-heart, but I'll post it as soon as I get home.

to use the wii code you both need to add each others code to your adress books.

then you can send messages etc
