Why spend the cash on a cheapo hopper like a second hand egg etc etc when that money could go into a better one such as a 2nd hand halo/re-loader etc and that will more than do the job for not only your ion, but for your next marker should you choose to upgrade at a later date.

If your just 'testing the water' with paintball then yeah....sure...go for the cheaper option. But be prepared to shell out later on when you realise that you will actually want something a bit better.

I bought a revvie as my first hopper and thought it was the mutts. (even though i was a dumb a$$ & paid top wack £45 for it!!!)

Then realised a few weeks later that it was soooooooooooooooo out of date/fugly and went and bought a halo. (£70)

Total cost £115

Theres a lesson to be learnt there somewhere i'm sure:eek:

Same with me. Started out getting a bog-standard 3000psi steel tank and an Egg hopper. Within a month these had already been upgraded to a fibre-wrapped tank and a Halo hopper.

Costs more to get the better kit initially, but worth it as what I have now will last for quite some time.

Got myself the empire e-vents, I like them alot but the lenses seem very flimsy, and the seal glue dividing the lenses don't seem up to much, used my clears once and the are internally steaming!!! It may just be a lense that passed quality control

Think the standard clear lense, that comes in a bog with the e-vent, isn't a thermal lens. I got a smoke and a clear with mine. The smoke was thermal but the clear wasn't.

Might just want to check that..........

ALL Vents lenses are thermal. There are two types of Vents lens:

1. Single pane with thermal coating to prevent fogging. (Like Vforce Profiler lenses)

2. Double pane thermal lenses with the additional plastic pane between your face and the main lens. (Like some JT lenses) This is very flimsy and not supposed to protect you from paintballs, it's part of the anti fog feature. You should never mess with the inside of these lenses if you can and keep them away from water, or just be very gentle and use a CLEAN and DRY microfibre cloth.

The new vents that i bought had a twin clear lense and a smoked coated single lense, I thought that it would be the other way round when spoke to a few people with them, they said it was a bit **** that they get the single clear lense which they will use the most, so it seems that empire have listened o user feedback and changed them!!
