Shocker breaking paint

We've got a new 06 Shocker on the team that seems way too hard on paint. It won't shoot Hellfire at all, and consistently breaks about 1 in 20 Blaze. Is worse than a team mate's Ego, and much worse than our Ions.

It has a high pressure preset air system, and the dwell has been reset by SmartParts to the optimum level, for the efficiency kit which it has fitted. Don't know the exact value of the dwell unfortunately. We have tried dropping the dwell, but then the gun wouldn't shoot at all.

Batteries are all fine (gun and Halo), have been replaced anyway just in case.

Anti-dbl feeds are fine and have also been replaced just in case.

Barrel is stock AA, and is a good barrel to paint match for both the Hellfire and the Blaze (balls just fall through, or require a light blow to push them out).

Velocity is in the 290's.

Guns is in semi only, and it breaks paint even when firing single shots.

Anyone else experienced this and what did you do to stop it ? Is it worth fitting the upgrade manifold ?

Have you checked the eye is clean and working fine,

have a look at the ball detents and see if the either has screwed in to far and a small amount of thread is protruting into the breach.

Check the SFT o-ring make sure its lightly lubed and in good condition & that the bolt and firing can etc are fully lube. I'm guessing that you've done that if its been around the team and too SP :(

^^What bob said apart from the SFT lube.

Dont lube it, when you lube your bolt lube the part that would come in contact with it, that way the oring gets lightly lubed every time you fire.

If your detents are all fine, eyes are working then its prob the SFT oring being too hard.

Take it out and replace it with a soft oring of the same diameter. I had this problem...put a softer oring in and it was fine.

Thanks guys. Will check the detents aren't screwed in to far - will also check that o-ring. Ryan, when you say replace with a softer one, where do we get a softer o-ring from ? Or do we just replace with another of the same type in the assumption / hope that it might be better ?

I'm pretty sure it is not eye related, as it just as happily blows the first ball to bits as any other in a string i.e. the likelyhood of a burst does not increase when firing strings.

Oring shop? Umm ask about, or call smart parts up.

Basically if u take the sft out u'll notice its quite hard, jsut find one of the same size but slightly softer.

If you cant get one let me know, i might have one in my big bag.

2 other things to try/check.

1. Have you tried upping the dwell and dialing back the reg. Should give a softer push on the ball
2. try another loader. too much force combined with brittle paint & cold weather is not good.
