Can we keep to the topic please? Rainbow you seem to have a trend of making completely irellivant posts.

I think that JT and Planet Eclipse would be a very interesting to merge, Planet could make some goggles.

Wouldn't that just end up being a take-over ,I would imagine JT is the larger company by far no?

or were you joking

Why goggles in particular? I think costs vs insurance is a fine line for them,
check out these patents JT filed for 2 goggles which they never released -

I like those first JT goggles!! The others not so much..

No i wasnt joking about JT and Planet merging :D
It wouldnt be a takeover unless JT bought Planet Eclipse, and then they could still trade as 2 seperate businesses anyway, unless JT then decided to close it down which you would have to be an idiot to do.
If they merged than thats not necessarily the same thing.

I would just love to see what sort of goggles Planet could come up with, if the rest of their products are anything to go by it will be pretty outstanding.

I dont think it would work, they both have clothing line-ups and all sorts of other soft products, gear bags etc.

NXe would go well with WDP,

or maybe smart parts could merge themselves with a flaming pit? :p

Robbo,
Good Day. The answer to your question simply remember the 3 P's.
Passion, Pride and Profitability. When it works there is nothing better.
Cheers

. Robbo,
The 3 P's apply to all 3 of your questions. In regards to part C I really didn't answer your question fully.
The first part is easy. Yes they would sell if the deal was right. The problem though is they would have to work for buyer for a period of time. This is not easy for a man who has built something and has had the final say and made all the decisions and now is more of an advisor and must follow the new direction. At the same time these are young men with young families who have been very successful and have made good money . So the deal would have to be over valued for them to consider it. Any company who could afford to buy either company is no fool and these companies don't over pay they pay under value. You also have the vision aspect to consider in relation to one of these guys seeing their market share dwindling as well as their profitability and the company from a long term basis will start sliding down the mountain. Yes these 2 companies are strong but if you look at both they do have their problems as stronger competition in the market is eating away at market share in key catogories as well as overall profitability. This could push them to sell.
The other interesting insight here is for an outside investment group to look at these guys they both havea big weakness. They both do not have real retail distribution into the mass merchants and sporting goods chains so their overall growth potential is limited. Both of these companies are not structured or prepared to enter that arena and would fail. That limits their viability considerably for an outside buyer.
To answer the last part of the 3rd question. Money brings power and power forces it's best interests in most cases go their way. As this industry grows and new companies enter that are more business people than paintball players and have the expertise will create problems for all of the big old timers. They are not used to in most cases people punching back after the first punch is thrown. It is going to get very intersting in the next 2-3 years. You can that one to the bank. On that note good night.
