NSPL Academy - 3-Man Newcomers Tournament - 21st January - UCZ Paintball Park

We will be running our first 3-Man Newbie Competition at UCZ Paintball Park on the 21st January. The format for this event is below, but basically 3-Man teams can enter or individuals can enter and will be assigned teams on the day.

As this is part of the NSPL Academy, Proto clothing, packs, goggles and Proto Matrix Rail markers (with Air and Loader) will be available to hire at no extra cost simply by providing Photographic ID on the day. These loan packages need to be reserved in advance and are assigned to NEW players on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are ten sets available and, as it is the amazing new PM Rail marker, they are sure to be popular so please book in and reserve yours as soon as possible.

- 3-Man Tournament, Simplified Rules, Scoring, Etc
- Teams randomly assigned upon arrival by drawing the attendees names from a hat.
- Players must be brand new to Sup'Air or played it once or twice only.
- One experienced player (volunteer) then assigned to coach each team.
- Two-Hours are then given for each coach to walk the fields with the players and help them come up with game plans and to sort out kit.
- Basic round-robin format. Each team plays each other team to keep scheduling simple.
- Scores: 3 for a win, 2 for a draw, 1 for a loss.
- Proto Jerseys, Pants and Goggles for the winning team.
- Trophies for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th place, and Most Sporting Team, and Best Coach!
- Full Proto Kit, including PM Rail available to loan on a first-come, first serve basis.
- Semi-Auto Fire Mode. 280fps Chrono Limit. No Paint Limit.
- £20 per person entrance fee. Site Paint Only - available from £25 per case of 2000.

These events are designed to provide each newcomer with a more in-depth knowledge of how to approach competing in tournaments and an easy, enjoyable and value-for-money introduction to the competition scene.

Any volunteer coaches and refs please contact me to confirm your availability.

We have 5 more of these planned for 2007, both in Bristol and Devon. Dates for those events will be published soon.

UCZ Paintball Park is in South Devon, just south of Exeter. Full directions will be provided in this thread a bit closer to the event.

To book in, you will need to pay your entry fee of £20 up front via cheque, cash or credit/debit card. Entry Feeds must be received by Jan 14th. Please email us on email@southwestpaintball.co.uk or call 0845 370 3 666 to book in or with any queries you may have. Please do not send card details via email.

What a great idea ;).

Best of luck with this Syd. It's great to see more sites taking up the 'newbie' tournament genre :D.

Raffles. You did indeed provide the inspiration and I gave you credit for that on our forums when I presented the idea to our community. Thanks buddy... with ourselves and NQ running the format, it should help to bring more players in to the game. Not a flood or anything, but it all helps. :)

At the moment, I am planning on asking everyone to turn up at 9am. Team selection and coach-assignments will then be done at 09:30, then we will give 1 1/2hour to kit up, walk fields, and discuss tatics, with the first game starting at 11:00. We will break for lunch, play some more games in the afternoon and be finished before 16:00.

Rules are simple. If you are shot, you are out. No restrictions on layers. Semi automatic only. 280fps velocity limit. Grab the flag format (double flag).

If you are not sure what any of that means, please do not worry - it will all be explained on the day.

Any other questions?
