this is a fairly common scam, when you pay the cheque in it looks good as far as the bank is concerned. You pay the extra cash back, then the original cheque gets returned, and you're left with no funds.

Hello,
My name is Ted Wallace and am from Mannheim, Germany. I saw your advertised Tippmann Custom Pro E for sale and I am interested in purchasing it. How much do you want for it.Do you have any picture to send to me for viewing? Don't worry about the shipping, I will handle that. Just get back to me if its still available. you can reach me on tedwall4eva@myway.com
Thank you.
do you have any picture of that? please give me the name i can send the payment to as well as your address. i am paying with a cheque. it will be drawn on a British Bank.
thanks...
nclusion of co2 tank will be highly appriciated. but will that cost me more? please give me your full name and address where i will send the payment to by the time we conclude the negociation. as i have said earlier, I am paying with a cheque.

am sorry. I only deal on cheques because of past experiances. dont worry. its still the same thing. how much will u take for the tanks?
Hello,
Thanks for getting back to me at this time. I really appriciates your prompt response. I am set to proceed with the purchase. The price is ok although I will appriciate it if you can reduce it for me a bit. I will be paying with a cheque drawn on a British Bank and cashable in United Kingdom. I spoke with my associate in U.K who will send the cheque to you and He will do that at the appropriate time. The cheque is going to be in excess which the rest will cover the shipping. My shipper is going to be my agent who will inspect the Tippmann Custom Pro E before shipping it to me. As you know that I am based in Germany, so I will be buying the Tippmann Custom Pro E sight unseen. Please don't misunderstand me. Can you give me the following informations to send the cheque to you? Your full name and address. As well as your contact phone number(s). thanks and have a nice day and I will be looking forward to hear back from you.
Regards.
Ted Wallace.
thanks for the mail. I am pleased to do business with you. i will get things started on how the cheque will get to you this week. As I have said, the cheque is coming in excess which the rest will be forwarded to the shipper as soon as you have deducted your money from the cheque. please get back to me with the picture of the gun. thank you and I am looking forward to hear back from you in no distance future.
bye....
thank you very much. the cheque will get to you at the end of this week. hope you did not forget that its coming as a excess? please get back to me when you get it.

My shipper is already on hand he will call you next week to fix the bext time he will come for the Gun. I hope the Gun is getting ready to go? Once again, thank you and I will be looking forward to complete this transaction by next week

well, if they have any nouse about them, they'll see this thread and it should deter them in the future...

could be good to get rid of them from the community, but not with regards to catching the b@stards... know what i mean?

you'd of both been better off to have sent both the cheques to the police along with all relevant contact details and transcripts of any e-mails or phone conversations with them...

also, that broken English isn't good enough to be German. not being funny, but i know a lot of people in Germany, and lived there for a little while, their English is either atrocious, or brilliant; because they learn it from like 7, and they either leave at around 14-16, or stay on, and have to continue learning English until they're around 19 or so. some of the words used in those paragraphs are too intelligent to have that level of crappy grammar... to me, that'd suggest it was someone playing the fool, trying to make you feel as if you have the upper hand.

True, I noticed that too. Broken English but with some long words which you wouldnt think someone who cant speak perfect English would know. Germans either speak almost perfect English, or pretend not to know. Dont let them mislead you!!! :D

Its gotta be one of the oldest scams in the book, all it needs is for 1 person to fall for it and 3k plus for sending a few dodgy emails isnt a bad days work!
