Thank you Tricky

I do not claim to be up on the forums.... I get about 10 seconds to read what little bit of information I can whenever my Director leaves his desk to make a coffee, and do not get to read complete threads.

With regards to UK teams playing the new Div 1 it is not easy to know who to pick, (and as UK paintball is so fragmented North and South plus East and West, Up and Down... which ever way you want to describe it, however, no one really wants to travel so it takes a massive effort like the North vs South comp for them to get them to meet)

So here are some of the names that I have to choose from, in no perticular order, but no one is sure until early April, normally about 2 days before the event.

Cynergy - Came along alot last season and have some great potential, will they continue in 2007.

Redemption - Great bunch of young and commited players with some real skill and have picked up some good signings

Steelers - Some great ballers in both squads and with the hard training they put in last season they can only go from strength to strength.

So Manc - The return of these killers is inevitable, could they be heading for great things?

Notrious - Can these killer dwarfs see the potential of going for SPL and move away from the 5 man and on to 7 for a shot at the SPL and then CPL

The Firm - Are the bad boys from the Northern Quarter going to step it up and start showing europe what is on offer.

Shockwave Kids - There is always talk about a second squad and if they can not get an SPL slot will they start in Div 1 and make there way up

Nexus Kids - Could be a similar senario to the Shockwave.

Northern Hero's - Another legend that is from the bastion of power that is the Northern Quarter, what are there plans? Will they see the light and start kicking some in Europe.

Wolf City Union - The young stars from Warped with the old school back up plan on hitting Europe a little harder, let us just see how hard Messers Frenchman and Edows can hit.

The Clan - Everyones favourite Sir Sid H and co, you never know how he does it but he comes up with some amazing young talent.

Storm - A great bunch of ballers who know no fear and are one of the most exciting teams to watch when they are on the move.

Operation Sandbag - Will the old Banzai team reform bringing together some of the greatest talent that the UK has seen, including Ledz, Jack Wood, Kung Fu fighting Flash, Okkey. They seemed to have a ball at Campaign will they want to keep this fun promotional toll going????

if I have missed any team out then I sincerely apologise it is not out of spite, so please remind me and I will make sure you get added.

After reading your appraisal of UK teams, it would seem to indicate we are at the top of the European pile .... and we ain't.
We either get real or we get stuffed, we can't look at ourselves thru rose tinted glasses if we want to get ourselves back up there.

Patting ourselves on the back and telling us all is wonderful in the garden of UK ball is tantamount to insanity.
Of course we have to be positive but not to the point of self-delusion.

The first job in getting ourselves back up there is acknowledging how far we gotta go, then and only then, do we begin the journey.

Results will only show how we are doing.

But how serious are we? by that i mean is there much point in entering lower division just to get something shiny, personally waste of effort

Nick, with all due respect mate, you can't blame him for not knowing that the berserks ahd made the step down to div 2,
Dude, when he is on the team he is, he should be up to speed on the goings on - it's not like Campaign was yesterday ;)

Didn't rip into him - merely suggested he check up on facts before challenging people ;)

I totally agree with you Robbo and alot of those teams have to decide if they are going to throw there all in and play the Millennium seriously next year or not, however, why put all these players down before they have even decided, you are a spokesman for the sport Robbo and should be there trying to champion the great push forward for UK paintball for now and the future.

I believe you know as well as I do why the players are not progressing along as fast as I do, and I could list them off in this post but why waste the time and we could sit on the phone from now til midnight discussing the problems with the GREAT GAME in the UK.

We need people like you Robbo like Ledz like Webbie and all the big names and faces in UK paintball to get together and shake things up to BRING BACK THE PRO TOUR, to stop the divisions to get the top teams training and playing against the lower teams to ensure that the flow of young blood continues and they gain the knowledge and experience that the top teams could pass on by simply playing these teams, some of the ones listed above some of the ones I have missed, or the division will continue and there will be no point in anyone in the UK traveling to Europe let alone the States.

The best example of what happens when good teams play against up and coming teams are the Firm and Northern Heros, they train against the Kelly's players and look how well they are doing for themselves. These things should be happening every weekend and with a bit of effort during the week, whether it be at reball or shooting real paint I do not care let us just start it happening.

Please Robbo someone it is time to draw a line in the sand and start pushing things along, if it is not you then let us hope someone else reads this message and starts the ball rolling

Please don't misquote me or put words into my mouth, I did not put down any UK players whatsoever.
You gave an entirely misrepresented appraisal of the state of UK paintball,
I was being realistic and honest and for that to be interpreted as putting anybody down is somewhat unfair on your part.

I have not only commented on what is wrong, I have also provided a blueprint for action to put things right and am willing to do seminars and clinics (as posted in another thread) to speed the process up.....and so....your point is?

Pete is a good ambassador for paintball in general, but I don't see why it should rest on him or select individuals to be the ones that push people into jumping through the right hoops. The fact that people need pushing is precisely the problem.

The results for the last several years have shown how we are doing. Yes some teams are trying for 2007 but we hear that every year. You probably don't remember/know about the year Storm promised to play every Open X-ball and in the US too and then played the first event and imploded. Every year UK baller make promises and precious few have either kept to them.

As for entering lower divisions - where did that come from? No one's menationed that (yet) in this thread. How many UK teams have won anything this year? NK in M5 - completely new team and they are moving up in 2007 and Outrage in Div3 - they pay their own way and whether you agree with it or not if they are spending their own money to play this sport they can enter how they want. Past that you have Kellys. Sandbagging doesn't always work...
