How Do You Remove Reg From Bottle????

Totally cant get it off- worried about killing it and I'm trying to sell it so might have to just give my good bottle away with the reg!!!! rather than my slightly heavier but still good bottle as I had planned!!! crap!!!!

Oh yeah just incase anyone reading this thread doesnt know, DO NOT put oil in the fill nipple

No- I planned to fill it full and look directly over the reg when i took it off, with both eyes and mouth as wide open as I can! Is this not the right technique!?!

Tried pouring a kettle full of hot water over the neck of the bottle before wrenching it?

Locktight or not it might expand the bottle a nats millionth of an inch and help

The method I have found most effective is to take the fill nipple and gauge (normally) off the reg, clamp the reg in a vice between two pieces of wood to save it from damage and then unscrew the bottle, anti-clockwise, using a large 'Boa Constrictor' rubber strap-wrench. As above hot/boiling water may help release the loctite (though 242 shouldn't need too much heat) especially on the nipple and gauge!

Then clean up all the left over loctite, make sure the seal on the end of the reg is in good condition, reassemble, clean up the nipple and gauge threads and use some ptfe tape. taking care that none will get in the air ways, to seal them on reassembly. That ought to take care of it!

if it is a pmi system it will be loctited on,best send it to a tech centre to do so that they can check the threads for you when its off.

I have had 3 Pmi systems and teched some of our teams and never found one loctited on.
Just put them in vice and unscrewed them.
