The Arena, Granville Mill
I know that quite alot of you played there in the past. Top Floor of a huge Mill ( Biggest indoor site ) in 1994 or something and supposedly the birth place of the Banzais.
I started there and loved it everytime i played
Question is
why did it ever shut down?
can't be for money as it was always full when i went
That place kicked arse and i've always wanted to know what happened

When it was first built it was fantastic an the owners then where awesome. They where real nice guys but weren't business men so sold up to the lady that owned it last before it hit the ground in a massive fire that ended it. It was a bit dodgy how it all happened but i don't think they ever got to the true story. It went down hill anyway after that women took over an was never the same again an like Russ said she was a lying c*** lol. I don't think it was the birth place of Banzais but i know they did play up there on occasion or trained once or twice. I played an reffed up there for years an it was the largest indoor site i'v ever seen an also the best. Its now houses sadly but it will never be forgotten.

Why has it taken you 8 years to reply to that post, my friend :tsk:

Simple - he's been on a massive bender for the last 8 years, and just came around.

Respect.

:)

BTW, the Arena was a great site, but the Banzai were playing at The Challenge in 1991, which predated the Arena. I think the Banzai originated from Graham Wildman's site in Congleton, which is still open as OTE Events, run by a cracking couple.
