Co2 + Tppman 98 questions

Guys..

My better half wants to get into the walk-on scene and so have purchased a Tippman 98 running on Co2, and thus have a few questions...

Co2

How many shots can I expect to get out of a 20oz Co2 using a stock Tippman 98?

Can anyone give me a heads up on Co2 fills as i understand it different than filling up your air bottle?

Tippman 98

Is the the Tippman easy to maintain and has anyone got an online manual for it?

What tools do you need to maintain it, and importantly chrono it (adjust velocity of the shot)?

Your help is appreciated.

About 900-800 shots on a decent co2 fill.

To fill co2 first chill the bottle. You can either do this by keeping it in the freezer or alternatively filling a little bit of co2 into it then venting the co2 back out of it- this cools the bottle.

The cooler the bottle the better the fill.

I can remember the poundages but if u search ull find the right weight a full 20oz co2 bottle should be. Basically fill it untill u cant hear anymore co2 going into the bottle then weigh it.

(prob best to get someone u know that fills co2 to show you).

To crono u use the allen key adjustment screw on the side of the marker. Also to keep in good nick just put some oil down the asa every couple of thouasand shots then shoot through it.

C02 about 750(ish) shots... and yes the tippman is very easy to maintain. Few allen keys and orings and youll be fine :) your site should fill up a C02 bottle if thats what you mean?

Co2 fills

Thanks for the responses guys...

Local site lets you fill your own Co2.. and they will show me how to start with, but wanted to gain insights from you guys as well before I go to make sure I have maximum knowledge...

Is it right that if your Co2 bottle hasnt got an on-off, that you need to purge the bottle first before any fill or top-up, or is it like air fills where you can just top-up as you need it?

You cant top up straight away as it will not allow you to, but they dont need to be empty either.
You have to chill the bottle down by releasing some of the co2 in the bottle.
Once the bottle is cold (ice starting to form is a good sign although it doesnt have to be this cold) topping up can be done, as long as you know the empty bottle weight.
The PMI bottles I use at work, weigh 1lb14oz so once filled they weigh 3lb2oz

What ever you do, dont touch a bottle once its real cold unless u like skin being removed.:D
