Pulse Problem?

One thing I've been wondering,

What's to stop someone from getting a short range RF transmitter from Maplins, or similar, and setting it up to transmit at the frequency(ies?) the Pulse works on?

Surely if done at a crucial time on a crucial point, it would cause some problems. Is there any security on the boards? I know at a local field it would be mildly annoying, but at a big event like Millenium CPL, where potentally the whole team has one?

(Although there is something darkly amusing thinking about an entire teams loaders packing up on them at the start gate)

Just wondered

Haven't looked it up, but I'm sure they will have thought of this and the range for the RF transmitter/receiver will be no more than 30cm (1ft) most likely - Doesn't need to be any more than that when mounted on a marker.

i very much doubt any pro's will bother with the chip anyway, it kind of a gimmick methinks. just another thing that could go wrong. The only folks i ever saw using the intellifeed were joy

I used to love the intellifieed, but it often came unhooked when I dived, then it always took a while before i figured out why no paint was coming out

I'm looking forward to installing the RF chip.

As for the jamming - I'm sure where there's a will there's a way. Perhaps the pros wont use it simply because of that. After all, it comfortably feeds 15bps without it, why bother with the hassle.

ok i know this has been said before, but surely buying something like this from maplin, and using the reciever instead of eyes in a halo serves the exact same purpouse as a pulse rf adaptor... would it work?

Thinking about it you wouldn't need to transmit the exactly right signal.

All you would need is a strong enough signal over multiple frequencies, it would drown out the RF transmitter in the marker. That in itself would cause probems.

But your probably right, pros would not risk it.
