Just having a think about starting up a new way for you guys to get kit easier when you have no cash. Thinking about doing a weekly raffle or set numbered raffle for new bits of kit. For example if I got a new rail I could sell 300 tickets at a£1 or new pulse sell 150 tickets at a £1 A time. This would cover costs and runing time for it.

What do you guys think ?

Just an idea as you'll have more chance of winning something than the lottery
!!

Sounds good but how would every one know that the tickets would be drawn fairly...

we are running one at the moment for charity and the main thing i am worried about is that some one is going to think that its rigged.

and it is a lot of hassle to get all the numbers out to people who have bought tickets.
just a thought.

any way who wants to buy a raffle ticket then for charity........

hmm, you know the raffle number books you can get? Buy one of them and then send each piece of paper in the post to the person who has brought it, then film the draw on camera?

Wait that sounds stupid, nvm

Even easier than that have it all planned out to be totally honest and above board.

Very very simple way to do it as well !!!!

I'll see what the feedback is like from this and then I might try one.

If feedback is good and people tell me what they fancy raffled i'll give it a little go. I will make some money from it but won't be a piss take .

Yeah mate we have ticket books and every thing but you have to think that people are going to be buying tickets at different times so you would spend all your time going to and from the post box.

what we have done is just send the ticket numbers to them by pm.

Just a word of warning guys to be careful - you now require a licence to hold a raffle as its is now classed as a form of gambling. Frankly ridiculous but thats our country at the moment.

Im doing a lot of fundraising at the moment and nearly got screwed over. It was only thanks to a copper that i didn't.

By all means keep on doing it but like i say, be very careful about it.

The tickets Markie and co. up @ NQ are selling is for a good cause, im sure a lot of peeps here bought tickets for that purpose only , having in there mind, they dont expect anything in return except a thank you from those boys and girls in need during the festive season.

Now if you were to do a raffle system for goods, that would be no different from gambling. It would create mahem here, sceptism, flaming, etc.
And the fact you are making some cash on the sideline would be classed as a business.
