add 17.5% for the VAT then a further 5% for import duty. I think you have to pay on the cost of shipping as well......................

there may be a way round it, if the item is expensive ask who ever is selling/ sending to put lower price on customs form.
may help unless they open it.

the only downside to that is if the parcel goes missing, you can only claim back the value on the packaging...............

you could ask nicely if they will mark its value for insurance, but put it as warranty return.

still works out much the same to buy in the UK and receive the support of the shop/manufacturer here. pick up the phone and ask as some dealers are happy to discount. you don't ask, you don't get!!

you can also ask them to put gift on the customs label ;)
Jack did that for my alien and i got lucky and missed the import tax bullet

senders worry if it goes missing they are responsible not you

so a decent suplyer will do it signed all the way think jack said mine was signed every time it changed hands plus had a tracking number
