I don't think there's anything wrong with them.

They're usually only up for a week then they're dead anyway.

It's often rare stuff or the first stuff in the country, so they're interesting to follow and I enjoy seeing people spend copious amounts of money on new kit just to be the cool kid on the block :D

It looks like there's currently a contender for the most spent on a pair of goggles tonight, will Luke C take Lumps throne? Nobody knows! It's edge of the seat excitement ladies and gentleman....just a few hours left...

BTW, how many paintballers actually bother looking on the british ebay for paintball kit regularly if at all? There's not been much point since they banned the sale of guns.

EDIT ADD: Could always add an 'Auction Room' to the classified section? Keep the rediculous bid bumping from messing up the classifieds. Just a thought.

Auctions on ltd stuff are ok. I dont really see the point in auctioning off normal shiz. It dont make any sense really.

Plus, a lot of peeps auctioning items off have NO IDEA what they are doing. They dont lay down firm ground rules so the whole thing becomes a mockery. You need to be firm when you start them off.

There have been a lot of auctions recently, I think the guys main point is that its on pointless stuff and I agree.
That is exactly what i mean.
There is no point in auctioning off like a normal gun that doesnt have any guns. People just say this is an auction for this gun and it finishes friday.
You need to be a lot stricter and say stuff like starting bid, bidding increments, general rules.

I am selling a lot of stuff for auction and none that is rare. I have this gear knocking around and getting in the way. I started the auctions low so someone might get a bargain and I get some space. I could place stuff like the Vantage googles up for a normal price and they get over looked.Slip down the listings and need posted again to get rid off. I am also offering bargains as I plan on opening a shop in the future and want people to buy gear from me when i do with confidence. By offering an auction it gets people interested and shows the quality of gear i sell when they win (at a bargain) is good quality gear.

Also selling items at cheap prices can upset the wholesellers, but by auction if we win or loose money only we know. It does not reflect on the wholeseller's price or the true value of the gear. A bargain is a bargain and believe me if the masks i'm selling at a starting price of £1 sell at that price I have made a big lose (but hey that is life and risk I run)

I still don't agree Shadlad, things normally sell for a similar price, auctioning them just means your thread gets bumped constantly with people upping the price by a pound, I think that you should give a price, and if you have no interest after a couple of days then you should relist at a lower price. Also, just to be really pedantic, you mention your setting up a shop but the rules state:

Rule 3) Only individuals are allowed to sell through the classifieds section.
Companies and/or semi professional sales have no business being here. Go buy banner space! This also goes for individuals who are grey importing/bulk buying new stuff from one country to sell in another and acting as small businesses.
