Ion Upgrades?

the stock ion reg has the fastest recharge rate out of any regulator out there... stock or not! ive seen the figures!!

when it comes to consistancy and adjustment... thats where it isnt as spot on as others but still very good!

hell why you think they use it on the new shockers!?

I have used the stock reg and an Ego 5 reg on my ION, and the guage moves a lot less under high ROF. Figures or no figures, real world testing is the best out there.

I just got told that for a starter gun, the ION would be the best.. So i was intrested in looking what i can upgrade it with, and what are the best parts to upgrade it with..

I will rather get the ION and upgrade it when i actually have the money, or try and save a little more, and buy an upped one from the forums.. i just wanted to know the best parts for an ION incase i do end up upgrading it!! or upgrading an already upped ION

Usually these are the most popular upgrades(although I have yet to up mine)
1. feedneck(if your hopper doesnt fit)
2. Bottomline(if you dont like the stock one, for most people t makes the gun too long.
3. Barrel (if you want a longer/different colour barrel but the stock is just fine IMO)
4. QEV + bolt(will get tons more shots out of your air tank)
IMO you won't want or need anymore upgrades than this anymore would result in the cost of 2 ions! But the beauty of upgrading a cheaper gun(ION) is that it can grow with you and you can upgrade it as you go along, rather than blowing all the cash you would spend on a higher end gun from the begining.

there are six of us that have ion's as first or backups. all of the ions we shoot have all got qevs, most have bolts. thats and easy £45 to bring gas effecincy up. q lock ain't essential, i put one on as i got a deal. if the trigger suits you no need to replace that. standard board is good enough, but if you like your boys toys upgrade it.

in it's price range (£150ish) there isn't any gun that touches it out the box.
so if you want a new one and a few mods or you can can find a trusted second hand sale where it's already got some mods thats as good. The best thing is your getting smarts parts biggest selling gun.
my local site uses them as sit rentals for walk ons and are just about to buy 20 more.

p.s. most sellers face to face will do you a deal if you slap £200 notes infront of them.

I'm basicly.. just looknig for the best upgrades for the ION that I can upgrade in the long run, when I have the cash, but I don't even know if there's more to upgrade! I think thats everything?!

In terms of board and eye upgrades all I shall say is that if you buy one make of board, buy the same make of eyes, e.g. Virtue board - Virtue Laser Eyes, etc. This will prevent any problems arising with the eyes.

I dont think it matters mate, Im pretty sure all the 'lazer' eyes for the Ion are made by the same company and then rebranded.

Get the QEV - you will need it.
Do not get those detents - go for the Kila ones (I know where you can get some of them cheap ).
The ION comes with eyes, so not sure what you mean there (the Blackheart board comes with new eyes as well).

Andy Im sure you know exactly what hit and miss means in terms of the performance of a product?

I dont know the source of those comments, I would be suprised if it was a lucky employee.
Deserved or not, its bad form to slag off other peoples products.
