i brought an ion and put a sh*t load of gadgets on it.

FREAK Jr KIT (ALREADY HAD INSERTS)

AWAITING THE PRICE FROM LOCAL DEALER ON THE LUCKY BOARD.

LOOKED AROUND AT BOARDS, FIRST VIRTUE, LOOKED GOOD. THEN APE
CHEAP AND AS MANY FEATURES AS BLACKHEART. THEN MY JEDI MASTER (MARK JONES/COPY SCAN) POINTED ME IN THE DIRECTION OF THE LUCKY BOARD. READING THEIR SITE AND THE ONE BELOW (GIVES YOU ALL THEIR FEATURES that the lucky site does'nt) I CANT WAIT TO GET ONE OF THESE BAD BOYS IN MY ION.

I'M NO EXPERT BUT IT SEEMS LIKE YOU COULD PUT WHATEVER YOU WANT ON IONS AND THEY ALL MAKE A SMALL DIFFERENCE TO SOMETHING ABOUT THE GUN, BUT STICK A NEW BOARD IN ONE AND IT'S A NEW BEAST COMPLETELY. MATES GOT A BLACKHEART AND THAT MAKES THE GUN SOMEHOW SHARPER. SO IT'S UP TO TO YOU IN THE END I'M SURE WHATEVER YOU BUY SOMEONE ELSES ION WILL LOOK, SOUND AND BEHAVE COMPLETLY DIFFERENTLY. HOPE THE SITES BELOW HELP ON YOUR PATH TO FULL UP GRADE.

forget the ion, if you add all that up you could get a pm6 or shocker brand new probably which you wouldnt need to upgrade.

which is nicer a ferrari that doent need upgrading or a boy racer can with a million upgrades for the same price.

you could buy my pm6 without the freak barrel and the ul frame with virtue board. or a brand new etek. trust me , ions suck. theyre hard to take apart unless you spend £150 on a body kit which lets you take the bolt out with out taking the whole gun to pieces. for £150 you could buy another ion its ridiculous unless you can only afford the ion now, then over the next year or so all th eother bits piece by piece. ions were meant for kids who didnt have much money to start off but who over time could make thyre cheap marker upgraded to be as good as the pro ones. if youve got the cash all at once youd be a spoon to buy all the stuff you said.

I agree in some parts on that...

if you have all the money in one go then you do have the option of buying other guns out there

what I don't get is paintballers NEEEED to access the bolt of their gun???

the ion has an o ring in place so that no paint can get behind and onto the bolt itself

played with mine for 8 months shooting nearly half a million paintballs through in that time and had a few breaks along the way. not once in that time di I take the gun apart or remove the bolt. and do you know what. . . when it came to opening up there was hardly a spec of paint behind or internally on the bolt. replaced the detents for the first time and bam I haven't opened it since and that's been 4 months!

it makes me laugh when people put a body kit higher on their list of priorities than a new barrell to improve accuracy

it just shows what's on ballers minds instead of focusing on what's important!

I agree the ion is an engine! and it does a job and shoots people like all other guns! straight outta the box its ready to shoot any one out there.

just don't cry when a kid has spent a fraction of all you bling boys and shoots you dirtying your kit

If I had to buy a gun right now I would choose an upped Ion over everything else out there.

Even with a few choice upgrades its still cheaper than most other decent guns and with the right upgrades it will be more efficient, quieter, more gentle on paint, just as fast, smaller and lighter than a DM6 (which, is just a proto matrix in a nice body kit ).

In fact I sold a DM6 a few weeks back because it was a backup to the backup to my ion. So far, even without being able to access the detents or eyes without taking the whole dam gun apart, the Ion hasnt failed me yet (fingers crossed).
It wasnt for financial reasons that I sold the '6. I preferred my upped ion over my other guns and the DM6 just wasnt getting any use.

Why not either buy a pre-upped one from the classifieds or use use the money your'e going to spend on a better shooter in the first place. Personally I would suggest an Angel Speed/05/06 or an A4 Fly/G7/G7 Fly, the used prices are bargain basement and the guns are reliable as all hell when set up right, all you need do is clean them down and lube with a couple of drops of oil now and again. Perfect for woodsball and for tourney if you wantr to move on.

P.S. all the above run on a Low Pressure output air system, certainly not CO2 (in fact I wouldn't even bother to put CO2 near any electro marker).
