clean the eyes before u go spending money on new ones, and give that a go, same happened 2 mine an the eyes were stinking cleaned them an it works

Regarding the Halo, I took it apart and would you believe IT HAS NO EYES!! Would explain a lot. So I've ordered some and hopefully it'll work a treat.
