There are plenty of good sites that could host this league dotted all over the uk.
It may mean a few of the organisers had to climb down from their high horses, and live in a more paintballer friendly world. But in the long run it would only help there standing and their pockets.:)

I do realise that Ollie Lang, didnt wake up, one mornin, etc etc, but the fact of the matter IS :-

That, you can ACTUALLY do that sort of thing in the USA..... get it ???

Im not full of excuses, like i say, I play EVERY week, in some form or other, because I CAN afford it, thankfully.
Paintball is the ONLY sport i play....no mattere how well or badly I play... I do it, because I love it...I'm too bloody OLD to even think about getting paid to play, but that wouldnt happen in the UK, now.... would it ?

F*ck the little leagues - if you are serious, then train your arse off (and I mean drills for hours on end, not turn up and play a few games) and play the Mills or even 3/4 NPPL/PSP events. Stop spending money on new toys/gadgets, buy a cheap economical car, start forgoing nights out with the boys in favour of staying in and doing Cardio.

Matski's hit it on the head - 99.99% of UK Ballers have no real desire to improve, at bestr they just want to beat the team they see as their nemesis, at worst, they want to go and shoot their pretty guns at someone.

All a unified UK league will do is allow a bunch of so-called ballers to legitimately say "they're the best in the UK"

Whoop-de-frikkin-do (to coin a phrase).

What would a UK league achieve? - baring in mind the objective is to beat international competition.

Webble - not attacking you mate, but Olly was a highly motivated person well before he was offered any money. At the end of the day a boxer who is inspired by the money will not go as far as a boxer who wants to be the very best no matter what the cost. People have the wrong attitudes and care about the wrong things. Magued is lucky to have a group of people who are dedicated and determined (clearly) to a very high extent.

And isn't that a step in the right direction, the format of leagues in sports works well.

For the moment forget the usa, we need to improve our own house here. If we can't organise ourselves, how the **** are we going to beat anyone.
A unified system of graded leagues works, and the perfect example is a minor sport called football.:p

Also the Americans tend to have a lot MORE free time

Huh? You're kidding right?

On avarage, the standard weekend in the US lasts 48 hours. Same as here... So no extra time there.

Here in Europe, we, on avarage have shorter working weeks than our US counterparts. Most West Europeans do NOT work 40 hours a week. Most people in the US work that plus change. On avarage, we get over twice the number of days of as the US does....

Where do you get this crap from?

No Tom, it's a dodge around the ultimate goal. "A step in the right direction" is the same as saying "I'll wash the Car/Dog tomorrow". The intention may be good, but we all know what the road to hell is paved with.

The ONLY way to even have a slim chance of getting back on the world stage is to find a bunch of guys willing to train 2/3/4 times a week, week in and week out and who are prepared to fit their Work and Social lives around their paintball, just like in EVERY other Sport - Rowing/Sailing/Athletics/Football/Rugby etc. etc. This seems (to my outsider eye) the Swedish model employed by Magued to great success.

As a further example, I used to sail against Ben Ainslie when I was 14/15, and I know the sacrifices he made to in order to get where he is today (two Gold medals in the Laser and Finn classes from the last two Olympics). He didn't whine on the 'net about how he couldn't afford to sail or there wasn't enough done to help him - he got out there and did it.

I also did everything I said in my last post - from Late Feb to October, my social life was practically non-existent. I trained EVERY weekend @ D7's and the only time I played an Event that was non-Millennium was when the Captain of my Team deemed it necessary to fufil sponsorship requirements. My teams results weren't good at the beginning and this unfortunately caused several players to seek other teams where less was demanded from them, and from there it became progressively more difficult to hold the squad together, which was a shame because I still firmly believe that had they stayed and worked harder to combat the shortfalls in our game, we would have still been around today.

I'd like to think that there are enough Players in the UK willing to make that step, but I ain't gonna hold my breath.
