On the note of accuracy... does anyone know what barrel is a nice and accurate one for an Ion? I was playing mine for the first time on saturday and it felt like it was going every which way! I currently have a smart parts all american 14".

you have to have the flatline barrel though.

Hey, Inq, in regards to your Ion barrel question I just really can't say enough good things about Stiffi, or Site Inc., whichever is less embarrassing to say. You can look in the last PGi for an explanation of all their strong points, the only thing is, you might not be looking to spend that much on a barrel.

Nowadays, all the big companies are pretty much on par with each other as far as quality (there’s only so much you can do with aluminum or stainless steel… or if you want to reach back a bit, brass), so it nearly comes down to finding whichever one you think looks best on the end of your gun.

And yeah, wow, blast from the past here – I thought we’d cleared half of this stuff away a long time ago!

Get a lucky barrel!!! there very accurate and cheaper than the freak barrel. Been using my lucky barrel for over 3 months now, and it has not let me down.

do you chrono the gun? tbh i dont think there is anything wrong with the all american, never used it but heard good things.....

if the velocity is too high, the ion will turn into a berserk paint-hose and throw paint everywhere except where the person you are shooting at isn't. you want the gun to be firing paint around abouts 270 fps for best accuracy.

otherwise if it aint the velocity, it will be the quality of the paint or the cal of the paint to the bore size of the barrel. .691 is a good bore for abrrels, or get a barrel kit so you can have lots of bores. Best to have matching paint to barrel.
