This is a difficult topic to approach, as too many paintballers will sing praises of one item purely on their own experiences, and overlook the cons for this reason. There are pros and cons with each of your comments, and as it goes this is a good attempt.
To make this type of list, you'll need to go into the pros and cons of each product, and show valid reasons for each decision.

this was ment for the newbie section mainly because 85% of them dont want to splash out £600 on a etek or ego. But yes u see where your all coming from and i was just trying to help out!
i tried to make this as open as possible because then it leaves room for your own opoin  i was just thinking it would help get the new ballers on the right track :)
Don't get me wrong, i wasn't questioning your motives. I was mearly pointing out that as you'd posted this as a definative answer to all the newbies questions that many people would disagree.

To be honest mate your or my opinion doesnt mean **** when it comes to paintball kit.

I could tell you all day long how amazing a pm5 is, how it does this and that, but at the end of the day when you pick it up and it doesnt feel right, thats that

Someone new to paintballing, may be 14 years old and paying for his gear with his own hard earned cash, which may not be the largest budget. Or the same aged paintballer could have very generous parents, which would effect their buying needs.
On the other hand, you could be looking at a rec-baller looking to buy his first setup, and happy to stay in that environment.
The buyer could be a total tech-head, or the total opposite.

You see, it's a minefield trying to please everyone in this world of ours.

If i was to give advice to a new paintballer looking to get into tournament paintball on a budget, i would find it hard to advise considering the vast array of markers out there.
But here goes.

Speed 05/PM5
JT flex7/8
4500psi preset
Z board egg2
Cheap pack and pots 140 capacity

I wouldn't choose the ion, because it is too cheaply made.
Jt goggles are cheap and it's easy to get lenses.
No point getting a 3000psi preset, as you will need the capacity of the 4500psi.
I wouldn't go to a halo, because you don't need the extra bps, and the extra hassle.
Packs are packs at the end of the day.
