ok lets get this sorted. I have seen many many threads floating in the newbie and techroom section on this forum about whats the best hopper and whats the best marker what air system i should use, so now im going to put a stop to this any just tell you.
marker ~ currently the best starter markers have to be the smart parts ion and a E2 autococker mainly because of the price! and the performance! these markers will be perfect for any tournament and will get you on your feet in the world of paintball.
also dont go spending £100+ on ups for your marker instead of playing. The markers above will be fine stock and until you have the money in the bank for ups i would just pay to play. its a lot better to be a good player instead of a good marker!
before you buy always try out the marker and see how it feels in your hands everyone has there own opoin on this
air ~ yes you can spend £50 on a bottle that is the same wieght as a brick! or you can spend another £40 on a light bottle that will serve you a lot better in a game. you should aim to get a 1.1L bottle that is 4500psi. Its mainly comes down to your pocket size, if you have enough for a fibre wrap bottle then get one but if you can only get a metal one then just get that because it will serve you fine until you have the money to get a new bottle.
hopper ~ the best hoppers at the moment are the viewloader vlocity and the realoder B which is better than its rival the halo because it doesnt have eyes and is sound activated. these hoppers go for around £60 second hand. But if you want a cheaper optoin the egg is the way to go you can get them for about £25 which is a good investment.
Mask ~ the mask is one of they most important things you will ever buy in the game of paintball. Dont save money on this whatever you do! the best mask i think to get would be the dye i3s or the dye invision mask. Vforce are also good with the vantage and profilers. The JT proflex 7 is one of the best masks to get! if you get a thermal lense thats a major plus it means youll never steam up mid game! sometimes it is a good idea to carry round a spare lense in case your one splits or get badly damage in game!
Packs ~ always buy a pack which can hold 140 balls pots. this is more down to personal preferance which pack you get but the best ones i think are the dye and nxe packs!
Playing gear & pads ~ not that important but if you can afford some cheap playing cloths go for it. Pads are not a must but soon as you start to play at a higher level they do start to help!
One last thing dont try and be clever:~
1. dont take your marker apart unless you know what your doing ~(i made that mistake )
2. dont be up yourself all the time. play with your head. try to play to the best of your ablity and aim for the stars. and never ever get cocky!
3. as ive said dont spend money on upgrades till you have enough money and you feel you really need them
4. always read the rules on these forums makes the fun police have little work to do
if theres any question dont be scared to ask!
Cheers Tim
