Manual for a Ego Star Reg

Hi all,

I want to to get the 'e' logo bit off my ego star regulator to get it annodised, but don't know how to dismantle it and without a manual don't really want to mess with it.

Anyone have one in pdf, or step by step instructions?

REmove macroline hose

Unscrew whole regulator from FRM

Use adjustable spanner (or simlar) to remove macro elbow from swivel (this is required to allow the removal of the swivel)

Once this is removed, Undo the two halves of the regular

Remove the piston and all shims.

REmove the adjuster screw from the regulator

Slide the swivel upwards to remove it from the regulator base


****This completes the stripping of a star reg ****

NOTE - you may need to heat the hose fitting. Older EGOs had the more solid green loctite on the fittings and hence can be stripped with agressive tool handling unless heated to denature the bond.

However, I have a relatively new batch of eteks and the macro eblow came of the swivel with ease when I had to replace a fitting, so your mileage may vary.

yeah i agree dude , but to someone who isnt sure, they may damage the reg by trying to prize the swivel off without removing the elbow first.
