Far as i'm aware, you can run an electrogrip Tippy or Spyder on CO2. The electro grips work by using a solenoid to trip a sear instead of the manual trigger. So unlike higher end markers you're not getting the CO2 going through a possibly delicate solenoid. Although other solenoid based guns like the Ion and Impulse do operate on CO2.

BUT if you are reaching a high rate of fire with your tipp & eframe then expect to be running around with a frozen marker.

it will run on CO2, but its not recommended ... if you fire rapidly for any length of time, your A5 will just freeze up.
Took the words right out of my mouth!!:D

CO2 doesn't effect the trigger but does effect the ratchet because the A5 uses surplus gas to turn the ratchet and load the marker - I've played in cold weather with CO2 and it just won't work! Air all the way but buy a high output preset and a 4500/5000psi 1.5l bottle - An A5 won't re-cock on low pressure, especially with extended shooting and because the A5 is gas hungry having a small bottle just sees you refilling a lot, which is fine for walk ons but if you intend to play big games the last thing you want to do is run out of air at an inopportune moment.

To solve the ratchet problem, its well worth getting a vortex mod for the cyclone - my A5 cyclone continues to cycle until there is no gas left to fire a shot. Haven't tried it in cold weather, but has worked fine so far this year. 1.5 litre air is the way to go for scenario. I was able to shoot about 800 rounds @ 3000 psi out of my 1.5 at Flashpoint using my A5 with e-grip. Would have been less with my R/T mind.
