Egg Hopper and Stock Ion

Just managed to get my air tank filled to the max for the first time to put a few targets in the garden in order to check my Ion out properly

Air tank on fine, yup, but could I get the blasted egg onto the Ion securely? Could I hell!

In the end I took out the top o-ring from the Ion to slot the egg in, which was ok for casually walking around the garden taking potshots at the missus pride and joy garden gnome (which now has a tinge of yellow no matter how hard I spray it with the hose pipe), but I know that if I was running round playing woodsball it would just fall out.

I'm gonna buy and fit q-lock soon anyway, but surely I must be able to get the egg secure-ish in the meantime without this mod?

Your help is appreciated.

The reason it falls out is because I can't seem to push it past the first O-ring in the feedneck to make it secure. Got to admit the idea of sanding the hopper neck til it fits seems sound Conion92.

However, would doing something to the feedneck o-rings to make them a bit more flexible be another option?

not sure...you could always try smearing a tiny little bit of oil on the o-rings of the ions feedneck, then see if its any easier to push the hopper on, just an idea:confused:

My setup is the same and with a bit of twisting the Egg will fit all the way into the feedneck with the top O-Ring removed. If it doesn't for you though, it would be a good idea to sand the Egg feedneck down until it fits in (still tight though, don't want to over-sand it).

If things go terribly wrong then a replacement feed+raceway for the Egg is only about £5.

My solution

I started sanding away and still couldnt get it past the top o-ring, so as lemonade X did removed the top o-ring and twisted it on. After a little more sanding managed to get it on reasonably secure.

I think on the day however it gonna be gaffer taped on, just to be bloody sure, and eventually I will get a q-lock on the Ion, but at least at the moment I feel I am making progress and can attend a day without losing my egg.

Thanks for posts guys.
