I'm going to be at the Welsh Open, I'd fit 9V adaptors to your eggs (saves batt door bursting open; & even if it falls open connection will still be there), on the spot, during the Welsh Open evenings (take 5 min or so).
Price, looking at like £2 or something.

PS ;), I would offer this as a drop-in mod, but I need to solder the plastic plug out of your egg, onto these wires, and I cannot acquire the plugs from anywhere else.
The £2 includes parts (I will have made the wiring harnesses up already), use of my tools/solder/flux/iron etc, and a piece of sponge to stop the batteries rattling.

Cheaper than the price of a new door

make sure you never need to replace another broken one :)

Or you can get the parts off me there & I'll tell/show you how to do it yourself if you like (they would be same price as I bought them at), & info free.

I've done this to mine & it works faultlessly. I was prompted to do it because it spoilt 2 games in my last tourney because the battery cover's broken, & it wouldn't work because the batteries weren't in contact with the points. With this as above, there's no pressure on the door.

I've got a spare Y-board someone could have.
I'd also have a go at diagnosing/fixing broken eggs if you brought them to me, as above got a free board if yours is fried.

What do we think? Any takers possibly/think it's a good/bad idea?

Ta ;)

I need people to register their interest so I can buy enough parts and a few to spare, who's interested? :)

Just you then

I put it down to £2 which I think is quite reasonable considering others were asking £5 ;)

They do say patience is a virtue.....I guess I'm not very virtuos. :p
I'm sure you'll have a lot of 'walk in' customers once words spreads over the weekend for people who don't go online.

Plus you have another 11 days to get the word out. ;)

Top idea and bargain basement price. :)
