Did you wire it correctly?Maplin....2 connectors.....soldering iron....remove old connectors....solder wires to wires...put something in hole to stop battery rattling.. done!!
Did it on mine and the batt light stays on but hey ho

I'm not sure that's right, I do the halo connectors, isn't it meant to be this?I've taken 1 of my eggs apart and taken this picture,it should make the instillation /conversion obvious.
Remove the original batty ting from the board via the plug,cut the wires(2),cut them at the battery end not the plug end for lentgh,and wire the 2 9v leads in sequence as shown,hope this helps .
