The Kings Hall in Belfast or the Odyssey Arena in Belfast. Both are within 20 mins of an airport (odyssey arena is literally on the same road 5 minutes away from belfast city airport)

both have enclosed car parks
both have the facility for indoor and outdoor play
both are very easily accessed from the motorway
more than enough space for players areas, and as many playing fields as you like. in fact the playing fields could ALL be inside the venue so weather would not be an issue.
both have EXCELLENT viewing areas for spectators. in fact the Kings Hall has a second tier from which all fields could be seen birds eye view and the odyssey is home to the belfast giants ice hockey squad. it also has the titanic quarter which is outside the actual building itsself. usually plays host to motocross world championships etc.
flights are cheap
accomodation is no more than 10 mins away and in fact walking distance for the kings hall
Irish hospitality and all the Guinness you can drink!!

seriously though, it would make a superb venue!

look into it MS.....................

it's a bit out of the way charging i'd say 90% of the teams with travel to ireland, as well as having to find accomodation etc, when there are so many locations within england that are more easily accessible.

It was very expensive for European teams to fly to Birmingham instead of Gatwick or Heathrow and the team attendance suggested that it may not be good venue. 136/7 teams I think at the NEC and there were alot more at CP.

We have to consider every team, player, vendor and spectator when choosing a venue and finding a good compromise is the hardest part of all.

Jeff

p.s.. I believe the reason they didnt have XL turf for every field is because they didnt have enough of it as they were let down by XL.
Fair point, indeed as airlines are not as cheap as they like us to think it was probably more for Euro teams to fly to Brum than it would be for us to fly from Brum!

- despite locational biass -
I too live in Surrey, les than 40 miles from CP and more than 120 miles from NEC, it took 1/2hr less to drive to CP than it takes me to drive to the NEC!

Campaign - the home of the campaign cup! It was there before :/
Think of the poor badgers, 100s of cars down that lane, its not called Effingham for nothing :)

Aye Belfast sounds like a plan!!! easyjet fly to Belfast international, so you get their low rates from all over europe. hotels are probably cheaper than london rates too.

We could put one in Harlem. I live there, so it would be the best place for sure:rolleyes:
Seriously, it would bring a lot of much needed money into the ghetto, or rather, it would bring a lot of rich white punks into the ghetto, which is the same thing...
