yeah the m5 field was laid out on actual astroturf, not XL turf as people were led to believe. I had a little walk on the JT field to see what the XL turf was like, it felt so nice compared to the astro... :(

To be fair though, the astroturf didnt turn out to be as bad as expected, my clothes didnt get as damaged as id imagined. the main problem was the sand getting in loaders and guns etc...

budget ;) couldnt afford to do it for the 5 man fields was the most probable answer, or maybe the CP owners didn't want the stuff on top of the astro

I had one of the first cars done on thursday over £3000 worth of kit after me 43 others were done in the next 3 days sorry but there was no fuc**ng security all weekend thats why it should be any place but there again.
Hotels you had to be mad to go out after dark (and yes i can handle my self  ) but the place is a sh*t hole.
All i was told buy the ms staff was well what do you exspect its crystal palace .....
Well i think not haveing all the teams kit nicked should be the least...
Still i had no problems with the feilds and even had french marshals back us against a french team:D
WELL DONE KELLYS

Did they take my diamond tiara out of your kit back too? Make sure you put it in the claim...;)

Campaign sucked because people who don't know anything about it and couldn't see games, were given the impression it was a get together of middle-aged JPS smokers dressed as power rangers.

I think the marshals on all the fields were by far the best millenium marshals i have ever had the pleasure of being judged by. I don't think once i felt a call went the wrong way in all our games (sometimes i wished they went our way tho)

Weather was a bitch, i saw loads an loads of people working their arses off trying to keep the event on line, fair play to all of you, not a fun job.

trade village was much better than last year- had more of a feel to it- felt bigger and as if you were walking into something good. last years felt a bit sparse.

Security. Felt on the whole it was working well (except evidently in the car park)- some security officers obviously got bored an stopped doing their jobs as effectively- i think this is a gripe with the company and not the MS

Didn't enjoy the access for the event, roads leading into and around the stadium were hellish (to a non london resident) lots of angry drivers

Personally, i thought it was a good event- not sure how it compared to other mill events this year, don't think it was as visually good as last years nec event.

But

Do we need a stadium?

I agree that a simple approach would be far better than using an infrastructure and working around it's limitations.

There are plenty of sites used for Car boot sales for example, hard standing loads and loads of parking, security could be aranged how the organisers wanted, and with the xl turf- no surface is now unplayable. pick a spot near a motorway access and not too far from a sizable town - bingo

Just my thoughts and i appreciate they are lot harder to put into practice than to type here.

I'm not bothered about the visual impact too much- i just want the opportunity to play paintball against quality opponents in a safe enviroment.
