the venue was rubbish, wasn't advertised enough and food and drink was way overpriced £1.50 for a bottle of water:mad:
Venue was fine, stadium was a bit over sized..maybe too big for a paintball tournament but big space for stands and feild with nice grass. Astro was a bad idea...
I agree it wasnt advertised enough, there were no signs around the venue at all. And yes it was well over priced becuase they think that us paintballers must be well off to play the game.

as psycho says we do not need to play in big stadiums, bitburg was ideal as everything we needed was really close. hotels, restuarant, supermarket etc.

it is a pain to get to CP, the NEC was much better for us last year, easy to get to, and easy to get to hotels and restaurants. I didn't care that it was out in the car park,

Yes, the stadium was to big for a paintball tournament only one section of the seats was filled, but at NEC there were enough seats for everyone without taking up a huge amount of space.

Didnt play so i dont know bout hotels and resturaunts.

Also just to note the area around the stadium was a sh!thole, we had to take a back route through feilds to feel safe getting to and from the venue..

I played cc last year and i must say i thought it was better.....

I think corners were cut this year they didn't even have a clean up crew to sort the fields out at the end of the day which they did last year...

The state of the fields where a joke and dangerous to players with the amount of crap that was on them last year soon as the last game had been played the clean up crew where straight on it making sure that the whole place was done,,,,,they even did it at lunch time for the afternoon season to have clean fields..

i do have more but i am going for a power nap just got in.

This is not intended for the bunkers cleaners cause i thought you did a top job.

Wasnt the main reason it moved from the NEC was because it was expensive for them? Crystal palace probably costs a fraction of the price to rent that the nec did. Afterall its a run down stadium in a sh*t hole.

Bring it back to the midlands ;). Or anywhere we dont have to drive around the crazy ass london. Wolverhampton is the easiest place in the world to drive around ;) ;). Birmingham is ok, easier than london anyway, but then again, castrating yourself with a disposable bic is easier than driving around london.

Still enjoyed the event though, just get it out of london.

See you all laters

Also not being allowed anywhere near the fields on sunday due to not making the cut to see kellys sucked, i even tried bribing the lass with a big piece of jamaican ginger cake to get down there.

As a spectator watching on friday with the wife and daughter and two of her mates,i too thought cp was a poor event .First the veiw of the action was very poor.Second , there was no way of knowing who was playing on any field as there was no pa system.Third, when we arrived in London there were no sign of any sort of advertising of this event.
As for the grub it was no more expensive than your average footie match. So after doing the same thing last year i to would say the NEC was a better event.

ps A big well done to KELLY'S

o yer and i noticed on the pro field a few of the bunkers kept falling down and some bunkers needed to be inflated more and the people inflating the bunkers just walked straight past them.

CP has a train station nearby, 40 mins from Gatwick by train, an abundance of hotels, restaurants, bars and room for the required number of fields and traders.... but whine on guys.

If poeples attitudes carry on like this, the UK will lose the event and tournament paintball in this country will take another step backwards.

I understand that not all ballers will agree with some of the thoughts posted on this thread but it has been shown in the past, that a minority can have a drastic effect on the future for the majority.

jeff,
as i agree with some of the things you wrote, i dont believe the above, that peoples concerns about the venue, will lose the event in the UK, if its not known what went wrong, how can things be put right, i dont think the guys are whineing on , just very concerned about the UK`s biggest paintball event, as for train stations and air ports and such, the NEC had all this too, and from a spectaitor point of veiw, the NEC was better, any new comers to the sport, or joe bloggs off the street wanted to come and have a look to see what tournament paintball was all about, were gona be dissapointed at CP, only seeing one field really, at the NEC all fields had easy access, no security problems, great trade stands, it was only our great british weather that put people off,
thats my 2 cents worth

THis was my first time but i cant really comment on it to much, but i hated the area and i hated the people, i am not talking about you guys, every paintballer i spoke to was polite and friendly, even Nicky Cuba (always had it in my had that pros would be stuck up) it was the locals and the hotel staff people like that, I was happy to get back to N.Ireland its just more friendly even the muggers say thanks after they kick the crap out of you.

From a players point of view it was fine, wasnt to found of having to go up and down the steps ect, but once down there it was fine. For spectators it must have been crap, you would want to see the full range of games happening from the pro stuff to the amature.

I have been in the NEC when i was still doing Taekwondo compeitions, and i would have thought the place would have been big enough to hold something of that size and provide a good show for the public or would i be wrong??

In any case loved the tourny, hated the area lol, no offense if any one lives there

WTF?! You dont know how god dam hard us squeegeers worked on the feilds. We had no lunch break..only every now and then were we allowed to have a toilet breaks! Most days we worked over time..and some squeegeers worked till 12 at night just so the feild is all cleaned and blowned for the morning, Scaffholding had collapse making us retreat our games to one feild (chronic) making everything 10 times longer than usual..

then a pole fell down holding all the netting that we had to get back up and running so the next game can be played asap so players dont get restless. The french guys did extremely well keeping the event up and running, espcially "ANDY" who was non stop running to each tent making sure we are well equipped and energise for the day, he put others first before himself and only had a hot chocolate the whole f*cking day, making himself ill..but he still carried on!

Squeegeeing is an extremely tough job so dont you dare give us the stick about not blowing up bunkers.!
