crickey!

another one of his funny moments being when they showed a clip of an injured crocodile (mouth was cut open) and you just heard him say "there's only one thing i can do".....*SPLASH* in the river he goes to get it.

Also his face when that snake was actually biting and clinging onto his arm.

i will remember him for the funny things he did, but also for the awarness he created about wildlife and protecting the earth. (who would you of rather watched, him or David Attenborough;) )

peace

Funnist thing I saw was when he was looking for some snakes (rattlers) I think.

He had found a hole with several in it and was squating above the exit to look at them, then you heard a 'hhhiiisssss'.

He hadn't noticed a second exit and a snake had just appeared between his legs very close to his arse!!!

Only time I saw him with a "Oh S*%t" look on his face, he had to wait until it moved away and then quickly backed off.

The man was a legend (And a bit nuts)

Just been announced that Steve's wife wants the final footage to be released. This will make interesting viewing I am sure.

**In a curious way**
I thought that might happen, I get the impression that he would have wanted it shown.

Such a shame that a guy like that died, but I do think it was more a matter of "when" than "if".

I can just imagine him underwater, goggles on, poking the stingray with a stick. He liked poking things with sticks.

Apparently the cameraman was infront of it looking back and Steve was behind, so they reckon the Stingray felt a bit boxed in and defended itself.

He did flirt with death on a regular basis so i'm not surprised, it is a shame though.

Hang on a minute. How many people on here actually knew him then? All this "RIP mate" crap .

You play with death for long enough - you will eventually lose - simple!

Yes - Steve Irwin was a good presenter/conservationist etc. - but he took stupid risks - to do nothing more than show off (why else 'play' with something that you KNOW can easily kill you?).

As for the Sky News pic - that was funny as hell - as we all were thinking it - but only one person had the balls to say it!

Now you've all gone and asked to see him die on TV! Make you frikkin minds up!

Oh - and didn't the weekend finish yesterday morning?

Is the footage going to show steves death or steves last steps before death?
If it is released I am sure it will show the whole sequence of events.

At the moment Discovery are saying it may never be shown because it is too shocking. Morning tv today said that his family wants the video to be shown publicly.

I understand the video is now in possesion of the coroner. (Was initialy with the police)

What was a little concerning is that I went scuba diving in Port Douglas right near where it happened. There were severeal people holding on the the rays and letting them pull eachother along.

Only Time will tell if it is released to the public

People showing respect for somebody that they aspire to is not wrong at all.

Yes he danced with death, but I always thought of him as someone that was sort of invincible. He did not do his stunts to show off. He did it to draw attention to what he strongly believed in.

To show an interest in what actualy happened is purely human curiosity, something which we all suffer from. Its a little different to making a cheap gag that I for one thought was childish as well as crap.

Watever you say. The guy is a legend! He has even been offered a state funeral.

Im fairly sure going by your comments Raffles that he has achieved more in his 44 years than you could ever achieve in your lifetime.

Respect to Steve!
